Styx: Master of Shadows marks a unique entry into 2014’s global gaming catalogue, with a very short and very… green antagonist, and hardcore stealth gameplay designed to reward player skill and strategy. Its new mechanics bring the stealth genre not only back to its roots, but also brings a breath of fresh to it.
Vertical level design, organic player path finding and fluid movement, and the constant threat of being overpowered by the enemy makes Master of Shadows a tense and strategic stealth game like no other before it.
Battle your way to the top of the lofty Tower of Akenash through immense and vertiginous levels that highlight the vertical perspective. You will complete numerous missions with various objectives as you climb – murder, information recovery, theft of precious artifacts, etc – and gradually reconstruct the puzzle that provides the key to the mystery of your origins.
The levels are open and the objectives can be completed in various ways: you are therefore free to choose the best way to proceed and the most suitable strategy to employ to achieve and complete your mission objectives. But remember you’re a Goblin: if your target is twice your size, or more, you’re better off eliminating them silently… and in the back!
Styx: Master of Shadows releases October 7 for download on PS4 (US) and PC, and on October 8 on PS4 (EU) and Xbox One at €29.99/£24.99.
