During E3 the first gameplay footage from The Evil Within was unveiled. It was part of Sony’s PlayStation E3 LiveCast. The Evil Within is published by Bethesda Softworks and is developed by Shinji Mikami – creator of the seminal Resident Evil series and Tango Gameworks.
In the game you play as Detective Sebastian Castellanos who while investigating the scene of a gruesome mass murder, encounters a mysterious and powerful force. After seeing the slaughter of fellow officers, Sebastian is ambushed and knocked unconscious. When he awakens, he finds himself in a deranged world where hideous creatures wander among the dead. Facing unimaginable terror, and fighting for survival, Sebastian embarks on a frightening journey to unravel what’s behind this evil force.
The Evil Within is powered by the the id Tech 5 Engine and is planned for a 2014 release, on the PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
