Painkiller: Hell & Damnation, the first person shooter originally released for Windows PC in October 2012, will be available for PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 on April 5th 2013, publisher Nordic Games has announced.

“We have been working around the clock to bring the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game in line with the quality and standard of the PC game,” says Reinhard Pollice, Production and Business Development Manager, Nordic Games. “There has been a slight delay so that the console communities can enjoy the fiendishly ghoulish experience that we know they want and deserve. In taking this additional time to add the final touches, we know that players will realise that the best things do come to those who wait!”

Developed by The Farm 51 and powered by the Unreal Engine 3, Painkiller: Hell & Damnation puts players in the shoes of Daniel Garner, who once again must fight against the demonic powers leave the hell of Purgatory and be reunited with his wife Catherine. Along with the extensive improvements to the graphics and the redesign of the single-player campaign, the game mechanics have been refined and lots of innovations have been introduced in the shape of a new Co-op mode and Survival mode, along with new enemies and new types of weapons.

Painkiller Hell & Damnation will be available as a Standard Edition priced £24.99 on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 and as a Collector’s Edition priced £34.99, respectively.
