Painkiller: Hell & Damnation, a remake of the classic Painkiller released back in 2004, will be available on the PC, the PlayStation 3, and the Xbox 360, on October 31st, Nordic Games has just announced. The game will not be released in Germany due to problems with securing an age rating.
Developed by The Farm 51 and powered by the Unreal Engine 3, Painkiller: Hell & Damnation puts players in the shoes of Daniel Garner, who once again must fight against the demonic powers leave the hell of Purgatory and be reunited with his wife Catherine. Along with the extensive improvements to the graphics and the redesign of the single-player campaign, the game mechanics have been refined and lots of innovations have been introduced in the shape of a new Co-op mode and Survival mode, along with new enemies and new types of weapons.
The PC/Mac version of Painkiller: Hell & Damnation is available for pre-order in both standard and limited Collector’s editions. The limited edition including a multiplayer skin and single player power-up tarot card, plus a bunch of real-world goodies like an art book, making-of DVD, stickers, a poster and postcards.
