Prince of Persia and The Last Express creator Jordan Mechner’s remake of his ’80’s side-scrolling beat-’em-up Karateka is slated for a 14th November release on XBLA, according to Xbox.com.
In Karateka the player controls an unnamed protagonist who is attempting to rescue his beloved, the Princess Mariko, from Akuma’s castle fortress. As someone would expect the game features many one-on-one battles which become more challenging as the game progresses. Karateka is in development by Liquid Entertainment and will be published by D3Publisher, while the game’s music is being composed by Christopher Tin who won a Grammy Award for his work on Civilization 4.
PlayStation 3 and Wii U versions are planned, but the dates for those have not been announced.
