PopCap Games, a division of EA, have today announced that a sequel to Plants vs. Zombies, one of the world’s most popular and well received video games, is expected to launch by late spring 2013.
As is the case with sequels the new installment in the franchise will include a bevy of new features, settings, and situations. No other details of the highly anticipated new installment in the franchise are available at this time.
Known for its quirky, one-of-a-kind blend of art, humor, polish and attention to detail, Plants vs. Zombies players has gamers placing different types of plants and fungi, each with their own unique offensive or defensive capabilities, around a house in order to stop a horde of zombies, that have different attributes, in particular, speed, damage tolerance, and abilities, from eating the brains of the residents. The game starts out in a front yard, and progresses to nighttime levels, where the gameplay is more challenging.
To date, Plants vs. Zombies is the fastest-selling video game created by PopCap Games.
